Madrona Gallery is pleased to present its fifth year of Pulp and Process. This group exhibition features artists from across Canada working in drawing, watercolour, pastel, photographer, and collage to highlight the diversity of paper as a medium.

April Ponsford's work expresses a complex range of experiences that reference identity, the environment, ageing, grief and perseverance. This collection of 20 new paintings are unified through the artists technique of building up thick layers of impasto then wearing them away. Ponsford uses this technique to mimic experiences in her own life where moments build and fade leading to memories that withstand time.

Personal Works
In this collection of 15 works from the artist's estate we are able to get a glimpse into the personal pieces that Bott held onto. Some were stored as keepsakes of those early years of his remarkable career. Others were paintings he hung with pride in his studio.
Madrona Gallery continues to work closely with the Bott estate to help manage sales and promote the artist's legacy.

Pitseolak Qimirpik brings a fresh and fantastical style to his drawings. They bring influences from his well established career as a carver mixed with pop culture, such as cartoons and video games.
Working in this medium allows the artist to expand the scope of his work from individual objects to full narratives. Drawing brings opportunity to express more diverse subject matter and weaves together themes in a way stone does not allow. This will be his first solo-exhibition of drawings in western Canada.
