Madrona Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of collaborative works from Kinngait, Nunavut.

This shared artistic process creates an incredible crossover between two art forms that share a long history in Inuit art. Communicating ideas on paper and in stone, this new collaborative project is the first of its kind and includes work from prominent Kinngait graphic artists and carvers, including Shuvinai Ashoona, Pitseolak Qimirpik, Qavavau Manumie, Ningeosiaq Ashoona, Ottokie Samayualie, Napachie Ashoona, and others.

Wallace creates a beautiful tension in his paintings, letting viewers unpack stories and mentally wander through the work, going on a sort of midnight walk of their own.

Madrona Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new paintings by Madeleine Wood.

Focusing on closeups of nature, Wood's masterful use of rich, vibrant colours, creates warm and intimate canvases that invite the viewer directly into the abstraction of nature. She captures sharp, exquisite, and dramatic details and patterns often overlooked, with underlying themes of renewal and growth.

Born in BC, Madeleine Wood studied Fine Arts at Emily Carr Institute of Art and earned a Masters in Fine Arts from Concordia University in 1996. Her work has been collected extensively in Canada, the United States, Hong Kong and Europe. This will be her fourth solo exhibition with Madrona Gallery.

Inspired by iconic Canadian painters such as Emily Carr and Lawren Harris, Anderson's paintings demonstrate a strong understanding of composition as well as a subtle yet luminescent rendering of light. His work evokes a distinct power of place. He is known for his landscapes of the south west coast of BC. Over the past two decades, Clayton's work has found its way into collections throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

Madrona Gallery is pleased to present “Sight Visits”, an exhibition of works by Shawn O’Keefe and Collin Elder.

In 2020, as the world slowed, Shawn and Collin began setting out on painting trips into the mountains, forests, and shorelines of southern Vancouver Island, to explore the experience of looking, to examine the structure of appearances, and to find the monumental in the details. These trips have been as much about conversations about life, as they have been about a continued pursuit of their painting practice and a conversation with the land. Sharing the lessons learned on these outings with one another have been at the heart of the creation of this collection of field paintings and studio explorations.
