Terry Fenton

February 7 - 21
Opening Reception: February 7, 1-3 PM

Terry Fenton’s new collection of paintings pays homage to the dramatic and changing landscapes of British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. Through his background as a painter, curator, art critic, and writer, Fenton brings his knowledge and deep appreciation for the Modernist movement into his own work by distilling the landscape to its essentials. In this way, Fenton captures a strong sense of place while letting the landscape speak for itself.

Fenton is the former director of the Edmonton Art Gallery (1972-1987), the A.C. Leighton Foundation in Calgary (1987-1993), and the Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatoon (1993-1997). He has published numerous books and articles on Canadian and American Modernist painters, and his work has been exhibited throughout Canada and the United States.
