Drawing on talents developed as a designer, muralist and illustrator, Ramseycrafts entrancing patterns in which scale, shape and space are constantly in flux.Towering mushrooms become monumental guardians, while rippling waves echo the contours of rocks, mountains and islands. His signature orcas inject compositions with a spirit of play and transformation. Otherworldly yet focused in their optical balance of warm and cool hues and hard and soft shapes, his compositions are ultimately both transporting and grounding.

Luke Ramsey has exhibited, worked in design and illustration, as well as writing, collaboration and publication, on an international level. His works are featured in promenine private and public collections in Canada and the United States. He currently resides in BC on the Sunshine Coast.

Artist Statement:

Extra coastal, west terrestrial, cosmic calm, alkaloid phenomena.
Beacons and beams. Nature pillars.
Language is necessary and nuanced.

It can also be absent. From the old country they say “innit.”
An informal way of seeking confirmation as a question: “isn’t it?”
Confidence to state it and doubt to ask. Sometimes words can be left alone.
Left at the gate to cross into a new world with a star to guide.
These places are neither better nor worse. Just different.

To be in it, may be a better read. Being out of it, maybe a lesser view.
