Hannoon is an Iraqi born artist who immigrated to Canada in 2009 and has since called Vancouver his home. He graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts -Baghdad in 1979 and received his Bachelor of Sculpture from the College of Fine Arts-Baghdad in 1999. He is also a member of Iraqi Artistic Forming Assembly and the Babylon Assembly of French Arts. He developed his bright and bold use of colour while he was practicing in the Middle East and continues to stand out in the Canadian art world. This exhibition explores themes of life and energy of living in the city. Hovering between abstraction and representational, Hannoon's pieces play with perspective, often incorporating a bird's eye view with a straight on perspective.
