Guthrie Gloag: Fortitude

Opening Reception: June 15, 1-3 PM

Fortitude is a collection of nine new sculptures inspired by the strength seen in the wild animals throughout British Columbia. Whether it's the determination of a foraging bear or the social interconnections of a wolf pack, these ideas are the driving force behind the sculptures in Guthrie Gloag’s fifth solo exhibition at the gallery.

Gloag is an artist and a biologist raised in British Columbia. His work incorporates found driftwood and bone to create expressive animal and human forms. Gloag started creating this series of work in 2011 and is continuing to focus on evolving the sense of character in each piece.
