Madrona Gallery is pleased to announce our 4th Annual Colours of Summer Exhibition. This group show features new works from our nationally recognized stable of artists. Each artist has contributed specific works that embody their idea of summer. Madrona Galley also introduces three new artists in this exhibition. Kapil Harnal, a Toronto based painter focused on contemporary figurative subject matter. Margaret Berry is Internationally recognized for her handling of realism in acrylics and Leonard Butts, a local ceramic artist known for his exceptional ceramic sculptures.

Pitseolak Qimirpik brings a fresh and fantastical style to his drawings. They bring influences from his well established career as a carver mixed with pop culture, such as cartoons and video games.

Working in this medium allows the artist to expand the scope of his work from individual objects to full narratives. Drawing brings opportunity to express more diverse subject matter and weaves together themes in a way stone does not allow. This will be his first solo-exhibition of drawings in western Canada.
