Wendy Wacko

Wendy Wacko was born in Toronto in 1951, and after graduating from high school, she studied art at the Central Technical Art School and the New School of Art (1969 to 1972).

In 1972 Wendy traveled to Western Canada on a painting expedition and settled in Jasper, B.C. She has had seven one-person shows of her paintings since 1977. Wendy's plein air painting has taken her around the world, and her most recent work has focused on Haida Gwaii and the Canadian West Coast.

Wendy is also the founder of Mountain Galleries at the Fairmont, with locations in Jasper, Banff and Whistler. The mission of the gallery is to support and promote Canadian artists with an emphasis on Western Canadian artists.
