Joe Coffey’s talent as an observer of life in all its forms enables him to capture moments of humour, metaphor, and mystery. Bowen Island based artist Susannah Montague creates sculptures that push the boundaries of ceramics as a medium. Juxtaposing the beautiful and macabre, she uses historical references and contemporary life to create vessels for her narratives. Montague draws upon current socio-political events, feminism, and her own personal experiences while demonstrating an exceptional understanding of technique and the history of ceramics.
