In Pocket Estates, Hildebrand presents a collection of large scale works incorporating new techniques to her distinct style of repetitive improvised symbolic motifs.
With larger scale work Hildebrand incorporates larger fields of colour, incorporating a variety of paint applications and creating a sense of depth and perspective. Following her past solo exhibition at Madrona Gallery in 2017,
Madrona Gallery is pleased to announce a solo show of work by Shuvinai Ashoona. Shuvinai Ashoona was born in 1961 in Cape Dorset, NU. She has been instrumental in reshaping contemporary Inuit art. Her drawings break from tradition and challenge stereotypes by incorporating references to the past and present alongside her own highly imaginative and individual subject matter. Internationally, she is recognized as one of Canada’s premier artists.
Madrona Gallery respectfully acknowledges the Lekwungen peoples, on whose traditional lands the gallery stands on.
