Already a respected artist in the middle east, Hashim Hannoon immigrated to Canada in 2009. Born in Basrah, Iraq 1957, Hanoon graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts-Baghdad in 1979. He received his Bachelor of Sculpture at the College of Fine Arts-Baghdad in 1999 and is a Member of Iraqi Artistic Forming Assembly and the Babylon Assembly of French Arts.

Bowen Island based artist Susannah Montague creates sculptures that push the boundaries of ceramics as a medium. Juxtaposing the beautiful and macabre, she uses historical references and contemporary life to create vessels for her narratives. Montague draws upon current socio-political events, feminism, and her own personal experiences while demonstrating an exceptional understanding of technique and the history of ceramics.
